Justin McKenzie

Justin has 23 years working in Wellington hospitality, growing brands, establishing venues, and managing and developing young industry professionals. Some of his highlights over the last 23 years include:
- Managing the ‘iconic’ Wellington Q bar team (1998 – 2002).
- Growing & developing successful New Zealand brands in Wellington & around New Zealand, including 42 below.
- Promoting and supporting the Wellington cocktail bar society, nationally and internationally.
- Conducting industry training and mentoring, in both on and off premises around Wellington and nationally.
- Establishing & executing the 42 Below Cocktail World Cup (2004 – 2011).
- Opening his first establishment Hawthorn Lounge in 2006, In partnership with his brother Jonny.
